There is no substitute for self knowledge on your journey to intimacy. If you don't know yourself, your efforts to know your partner will eventually falter. If you do not take the time and care to know yourself, you will resent your partner's efforts to express herself or himself in the relationship. If you don't know yourself, you will severely limit your capacity for intimacy. Through knowing yourself, you greatly enhance the gift of intimacy that you can create with your partner.
